Youth Cut Down Rails, 7-6
|
In a tight contest at Rails Ballpark, the Phoenix Hotspur Youth edged the Richland Rails by the score of 7-6. Phoenix Hotspur shortstop James Turner, who blasted 1 home run, was named the player of the game. Wei-qian Chieu, credited with the win, is now 3-7. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.1 innings. Phoenix Hotspur is now 30-62, Richland 36-56.
Turner had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 2-2 fastball from Stephen Knight, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Youth a 7-6 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Turner.
"We're all smiles after that win," Turner told the Phoenix Hotspur Times.
