Continentals Get Close Win Over Youth
|
The Phoenix Hotspur Youth got a superb performance from pitcher Alberto Solís. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Chesapeake. The Continentals won the game, 4-3. In spite of the loss, Solís was named the player of the game. He threw 7 innings allowing 3 runs. Chesapeake reliever Fabian Thul picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Eduardo Márquez took the loss. Keith Johnson was called on to finish, recording his 3rd save.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and two out in the top of the eighth inning. That's when catcher Alfonso Morín, who is tied for 10th in the PAA with a .465 slugging percentage, drew a walk. The Continentals went on to win.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Morín.
Chesapeake is now 47-42, while Phoenix Hotspur is 28-61.
