Continentals Defeat Shooters, 5-3

The Chesapeake Continentals racked up a win at Springfield Stadium, bumping off the Springfield Shooters, 5-3. Andrew Prieto, who started for Chesapeake, pitched effectively for his team. Prieto got the win, improving to 5-7. He allowed 6 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. Prieto allowed 3 earned runs. Keith Johnson earned his 1st save in 1 chances.
Jim MacRach, who is tied for 4th in the PAA in extra base hits with 30, aided the Chesapeake cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the sixth. For the game, the third baseman was 1 for 4 with a double and a walk.
"What we get, we earn," MacRach told the Chesapeake Daily News.
The Continentals now have a record of 45-41 with the win over Springfield.
