Highlanders Trounce Rails, 11-0
|
Asheville Highlanders starter David Gómez had all his pitches working at Asheville Park. His stellar performance paved the way for an easy 11-0 Asheville win over the Richland Rails. The Highlanders, at 43-36, have now won 4 straight.
Tom Dickinson, the 30 overall pick in the 2032 draft, aided the Asheville cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the first. For the game, the catcher was 1-4 with a double.
Highlanders manager Barry Embling had nothing but praise for his players after an impressive win, calling the result one of the team's best performances of the season. "Everything just came together on our end," he said. "I didn't need to do too much."
