García, Love Boats Get 5-1 Win
|
The Lake Minnetonka Love Boats picked up a win at Springfield Stadium, knocking off the Springfield Shooters, 5-1. Starting pitcher Alejandro García, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Juan Sánchez earned the save for Lake Minnetonka, his 10th of the year. Lake Minnetonka has now won 4 games in a row.
García earned the win, going 7 strong innings for Lake Minnetonka. The native of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic allowed just 1 hit, while striking out 7. Springfield hitters did next to nothing against the left-hander.
"We'll enjoy this win," said García. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
