Wacher has 3 hit day, Screaming Eagles Move to 45-27
The first-place Mercer Island Screaming Eagles welcomed Phoenix Hotspur to Mercer Island Grounds.

The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles beat the Phoenix Hotspur Youth, 14-6, at Mercer Island Grounds. The win was largely due to the efforts of shortstop Dennis Wacher, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 triples. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. Mercer Island reliever Leo Ingelbrigtsen picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. José Santiago took the loss.

Mercer Island took control in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, Yu-shu Kang hit a 2-run single to make it 7-5, Screaming Eagles.

"We've got a great group of guys," Kang said, "and we're having fun right now."

Mercer Island goes to 45-27. The win puts them 3 games up in their division.
