Shooters Saddle Highlanders with 5-3 Loss
|
The Springfield Shooters bested the Asheville Highlanders by a score of 5-3, with second baseman Ángelo Corona getting the main credit. On the day, Corona was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Shooters. Cristián Moreno was credited with the save for Springfield, his 8th of the season. Springfield is now 30-37, Asheville 34-33.
Corona had an important at-bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the fifth, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Shooters went on to win.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Springfield manager John Carney. "It's usually not just one thing."
