Chesapeake Continentals starter Jack Salt was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Springfield Shooters, 4-3. Raúl Romero picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-1. Vicente Escamilla was tagged with the loss. Chesapeake now has a 3-game win streak.

Had Júlio Costa not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 1st, Costa hit a 2-run home run. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Continentals.

"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Salt.
