Chesapeake pitcher Jeff Enamorado did his part in helping his team beat the Springfield Shooters, 2-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Enamorado got the win, improving to 5-5. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. Enamorado allowed 1 earned run. Francisco Torres was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 5 of 7 save opportunities.
The Continentals got a lift from center fielder Phil Oostermeer who had a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the first inning off Mike McKay. It was his 22nd RBI of the season and put Chesapeake in front, 1-0.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Oostermeer.
Chesapeake occupies 7th place in the Premier AA at 31-33.
