Shooters Beat Rails in 10
|
Richland got a terrific performance from pitcher Chin-seok Hwang, but it wasn't enough to beat the Springfield Shooters. Springfield won the Rails Ballpark contest, 3-2. Hwang was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings of 1-hit ball. Springfield reliever Vicente Escamilla picked up the win, bumping his record to 4-3. Ed Shreves was collared with the loss. The save was credited to Cristián Moreno, his 7th.
The most critical at-bat came in the top of the tenth inning. With two out, Yu-shu Tseng hit a 1-1 changeup from Ed Shreves for a run-scoring single. It put Springfield in front, 3-2.
In postgame comments, Tseng said he was glad to contribute to an exciting win.
Springfield is now 29-34. Richland is 28-35.
