Screaming Eagles Jolt Eclipse with Late Rally
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the Northville Eclipse at Mercer Island Grounds. Nobody did more than pitcher Zion DeBose, who captured player of the game honors. Mercer Island reliever Pu-feng Zhou picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Jorge Cruz absorbed the loss. Mercer Island leads the Premier AA by 2 games.

In the bottom of the 8th, shortstop Dennis Wacher gave Mercer Island the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Screaming Eagles had been trailing 3-2, but the two-out single off Northville pitcher Jorge Cruz changed that -- and Mercer Island went on to win.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," DeBose said.
