Miners Turn Back Northville, 5-3
|
Marquette Miners starter Gerald Bolton was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Northville Eclipse, 5-3. Bolton, now 6-2, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing 2 earned runs. Félix Santiago was called on to finish, recording his 13th save.
Franklin Kelley, who is tied for 9th in the PAA in triples with 3, helped out the Marquette cause in the top of the eighth inning with a 2-run single. For the game, the left fielder was 2 for 4 with a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Bolton said.
Marquette is now 30-30.
