Shooters Turn Back Mercer Island, 4-3
|
The Springfield Shooters stopped the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 4-3, at Springfield Stadium. The Shooters got a big game from Yu-shu Tseng, who went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Springfield has now won 3 straight, while the Screaming Eagles have lost 3 in a row.
Tseng contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Springfield in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 3-2, Tseng took a fastball from Satoshi Ono and stroked the home run to left-center. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Shooters to leap in front, 4-3.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Tseng.
