The Rails had to overcome a good performance from Chesapeake pitcher Jack Salt to claim a 5-4 win at Chesapeake Grounds. Salt went 5.2 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. The win puts the Rails at 24-28, while the Continentals drop to 23-29.
Jared Morningstar made it 5-4 in favor of Richland when he delivered a run-scoring single. It came with two out in the top of the eighth. The Rails went on to win.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Chesapeake manager Joe Richard.
