Asheville used a superb performance from starting pitcher Derek Patton to down the Lake Minnetonka Love Boats, 2-1. In 5 innings, Patton surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 4. He allowed 1 run. Malulani Anakone finished to wrap up his 3rd save.
Tony Walsh helped out the Asheville cause in the bottom of the first inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the left fielder drew 1 walk in 3 plate appearances.
Patton said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
The Highlanders raised their record to 21-24.
