Victory Over Highlanders Takes Lake Minnetonka to 27-17
|
The Lake Minnetonka Love Boats topped the Asheville Highlanders, 9-5, in USPL Double A action at Asheville Park. The player of the game was Lake Minnetonka pitcher and Kasuga, Japan native Kagetoki Matsubara. Lake Minnetonka reliever Pancho Mastache picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Allen Duer shouldered the loss. The Love Boats saw their record improve to 27-17.
Michael Sweeney, who is tied for 10th in the PAA in bases on balls with 23, aided the Lake Minnetonka cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh. For the game, the center fielder was 2 for 4 with a double.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Lake Minnetonka manager .
