James Bennett pitched a gem to lead Marquette to a 3-1 victory over the Asheville Highlanders. Félix Santiago closed the game out for Marquette, earning his 9th save. The Miners bumped their record to 21-21 with this latest triumph.

Bennett was in the zone all game. He frustrated Asheville hitters while giving the Miners 8 innings of quality work. Bennett threw 96 pitches, allowing 4 hits and getting 6 punchouts.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Bennett said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
