Thrilling Victory Pushes Highlanders Win Streak to 5
|
Asheville Highlanders starter Rich Choquette turned in an exceptional performance against the Marquette Miners at Marquette Stadium, resulting in a Asheville win, 1-0. The Miners, now 19-21, have lost 4 in a row.
The Highlanders got a big at-bat from catcher Tom Dickinson. For the game, Dickinson was 1 for 4 with a double. In the top of the ninth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 3rd double of the season gave Asheville a 1-0 lead.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Choquette, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
