Martínez Delivers Walk-Off Win for Shooters
Fans who came to Springfield Stadium watched the Springfield Shooters and the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles fight to the finish.

The Springfield Shooters topped the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 5-4, in USPL Double A action at Springfield Stadium. The player of the game was Springfield pitcher and Las Vegas, Nevada native Rex Negrete. Springfield reliever Vicente Escamilla was the winner. His record is now 2-2. Pu-feng Zhou took the loss.

Late in the game, shortstop Tony Martínez had a big at-bat for Springfield. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single off Pu-feng Zhou. The play gave the Shooters a 5-4 lead.

"I was a little disappointed," said Mercer Island manager David Lundy. "We could've and should've scored more runs."

Mercer Island's current losing streak is now 4 games.
