The Chesapeake Continentals topped the Lake Minnetonka Love Boats, 4-1, in USPL Double A action at Chesapeake Grounds. The player of the game was Chesapeake pitcher Francisco Díaz. Díaz got the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed 8 hits and walked 0 over 8 innings. Díaz allowed 1 earned run. Jason Martin earned the save for Chesapeake, his 6th of the year.
The Continentals got a big at-bat from second baseman Manuel Ángel. For the game, Ángel went 2 for 3 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 21st hit of the season gave Chesapeake a 2-0 lead.
