The Boston Patriots defeated the Toledo Stingers, 2-1, in United States Premier League action at Pacesetter Park, with Boston pitcher Ralph McKinney named player of the game. José Sánchez picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-3. Hermenegildo Beliago was tagged with the loss. Eugene Clarkston got the save, his 18th in 20 chances.

The Patriots got a big at-bat from center fielder Francisco Agámez. For the game, Agámez was 2-4 with 2 singles. In the top of the seventh, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 43rd hit of the season gave Boston a 2-1 lead.

In postgame comments to the Boston Herald, Agámez said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
