The Minnesota Loons turned back the Asheville Highlanders, 6-5, at Loony Bin. José de la Cavallería was named player of the game for his fine performance. He went 3-4 with a triple and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Asheville's current losing streak has reached 4 games.
de la Cavallería had a game-changing triple in the bottom of the eighth. On a 0-1 fastball from Malulani Anakone, he banged a 2-run triple to center, giving the Loons a 6-5 lead. It was the 1st triple of the year for de la Cavallería.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Minnesota manager Leo Sargent.
