|
The Lake Minnetonka Love Boats got a sterling performance from pitcher Dylan Telford, but the Highlanders still prevailed, 1-0. Telford was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 8 innings of 3-hit ball. Asheville reliever Mariano Núñez picked up the win to move to 2-0. Dylan Telford suffered the loss. Bob Grzelak locked down his 5th save.
Asheville took control in the top of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Arturo Scantlebury hit a run-scoring single to make it 1-0, Highlanders.
"Runs were at a premium," said Asheville manager Barry Embling.
