Late Rally by Highlanders Secures Win
|
Asheville Highlanders starter Rich Choquette pitched a strong game against the Marquette Miners at Asheville Park, leading the Highlanders to a 7-4 win. Todd Serrano picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-2. Enrique Castillo was tagged with the loss. The Miners fall to 8-10 and continue their lackluster start in 2032.
Edgar Castaneda was the walk-off hero for Asheville. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Highlanders shortstop hit a dramatic 3-run home run to send the teams home.
Choquette expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
