Payling, Evergreens Rough Up Piranhas
The exploits of center fielder Chris Payling, who is tied for 2nd in the PL in stolen bases with 45, helped the Portland Evergreens defeat the Panama City Piranhas, 12-2. Payling went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 6 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Jorge Otero, who threw 101 pitches over 7 innings. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs on 4 hits. Portland is now riding a 5-game win streak.

Payling had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the top of the third inning, when he hit a grand slam. The Evergreens went on to win.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Payling told the Portland Times.
