Pitcher Steve Tedder was sensational for the Minnesota Loons in his team's 2-0 triumph over the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles. Tedder received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. The Loons are off to a nightmare start as they look to defend their championship, notching only their 1st win in 3 games.
Early in the game, second baseman Ramón Yniguez had a run-scoring single for Minnesota. It was his 3rd hit of the season and put the Loons on top, 1-0.
Afterward, Loons manager Leo Sargent was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
