Bloomington pitcher Geoff Stackhouse did his part in helping his team beat the Bakersfield Nobles, 7-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Stackhouse, the winner, moves to 1-1. He threw 7 innings of 1-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 6 walks. Bloomington is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Tied up with the Nobles in the top of the fifth inning, the Longnecks got a boost from right fielder Gabrio Campoverde. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Campoverde saw a 1-1 changeup from Lúcio Sánchez and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Bloomington on top, 1-0.
