Longnecks Topple Buzz with Late Rally
|
Fans who came to Lookouts Ballpark watched the Bloomington Longnecks and the Salt Lake City Buzz fight to the finish.
In a close game at Lookouts Ballpark, the Bloomington Longnecks edged the Salt Lake City Buzz, 5-4. Bloomington second baseman Barrett Drury earned the nod as player of the game. He went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Bloomington is now 40-55, Salt Lake City 41-54.
The Longnecks were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when designated hitter Toussiant L'Ouverture turned a first pitch fastball from Luis Bejarano into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent a roar through the crowd and gave Bloomington a thrilling 5-4 win.
