Buzz Lose Again, 8-3, to Nobles
|
The Bakersfield Nobles topped the Salt Lake City Buzz, 8-3, at Jerome Grounds. Bakersfield right fielder Alberto Enríquez earned player of the game honors. He banged out 3 singles and 1 double, while driving in 2 runs. Fernando Torrez got the win, improving to 3-6. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 6 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 3. The losses continue to mount for Salt Lake City, which has now dropped 7 in a row.
Theo Fightmaster, who is tied for 6th in the PAAA with a .403 on-base percentage, aided the Bakersfield cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the first baseman went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"We've hit a rough patch right now," said Salt Lake City skipper Dan Joseph.
