Hotspur Reserves Fall to .500 After Loss to Lynx
|
Calgary Lynx starter Xiao-shuang Wong kept the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-2 win. Wong, now 8-3, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 4, walking 0, and allowing 2 earned runs. With the win, Calgary has a record of 42-36. Phoenix falls to 39-39.
San Cristóbal, Dominican Republic-born Luis Delvalle came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd and the Lynx trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run home run to left to put Calgary on top.
"Feels good to get the job done," Delvalle said after the game.
