|
The Phoenix Hotspur Reserves got a sterling performance from pitcher Masahiro Sakei, but the Rocks still prevailed, 4-3. Sakei was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 8 innings of 5-hit ball. Plymouth reliever Vaugh Chesser picked up the win to move to 1-2. Alexander Weareorwear suffered the loss. Plymouth is now 38-28, while Phoenix is 35-31.
Raúl Rodríguez had a nice at-bat for the Rocks with no one out in the bottom of the tenth. With the bases empty, the pinch hitter drew a walk, which would prove important in the Plymouth win.
"Feels good to get the job done," Rodríguez said after the game.
