Fighting Dachsunds Defeat Lynx, 7-3
|
The Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds defeated the Calgary Lynx, 7-3. Earning player of the game honors was center fielder Eugene Clutch, who went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Ellenburg reliever Francis McBride picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Lorenzo Díaz was collared with the loss. The Fighting Dachsunds' win now puts them at 25-40.
With Ellenburg leading 1-0 in the top of the second, Clutch hit a fastball from Lorenzo Díaz for a 3-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Fighting Dachsunds ahead, 4-0.
In postgame comments to the Ellenburg Today, Clutch said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
