The Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds picked up a win at Thunderbirds Stadium, knocking off the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves, 4-3. Starting pitcher Ed Stark was an essential part of his team's success. Stark, now 5-5, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing 3 earned runs. Ellenburg now has a 3-game win streak.
The game hit a turning point in the top of the fifth inning, when the Fighting Dachsunds were trailing 3-2. Francis Kelly delivered a two-out 2-run double for Ellenburg, catapulting his team into the lead.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Phoenix manager Alfred Roberts said following the tough loss.
