Tanaka, Plymouth Prevail in Pitchers' Duel

Fans who came to Plymouth Quarry watched the Plymouth Rocks and the Salt Lake City Buzz fight to the finish.
Plymouth starter Nobuhito Tanaka had a strong outing against the Salt Lake City Buzz at Plymouth Quarry. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 1-0 win. Vaugh Chesser was called on to finish, recording his 18th save.
Tanaka, who was born in Osaka, Japan, threw 106 pitches over 7.1 innings, while allowing no earned runs.
"The old adage is true," said Tanaka. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
