Patriots Knock Off Rainbow Mermaids at Dunkin Donuts Park
|
The Boston Patriots topped the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids by the score of 5-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to left fielder Manuel Carmona. Carmona was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Patriots on the day. Boston reliever Carlos Ramos picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Mimosa Joseph was saddled with the loss. Piotr Oja closed it out for his 2nd save.
Carmona had a big at-bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the first inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Patriots went on to win.
"I really like what we did out there today," Carmona said after the game.
Boston is now 44-43.
