Coral Reefers Go Down to Defeat, 6-3
|
The Phoenix Hotspur Reserves bested the Key West Coral Reefers by a score of 6-3, with third baseman Alex Niemann getting the main credit. On the day, Niemann went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times for the Hotspur Reserves. Kenny Kawaguchi got the win, improving to 1-4. He worked 8 innings, giving up 3 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Earning his 18th save of the year was Alexander Weareorwear.
Phoenix needed the clutch hitting of Francisco Arriagada to notch the win. The center fielder hammered a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Hotspur Reserves on top, 2-1. For the game, Arriagada had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Arriagada.
With the victory, the Hotspur Reserves record now stands at 29-25.
