Multi-HR Game for Hakoda in 5-4 Win
Fans who gathered at Dunkin Donuts Park saw a good contest between the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids and Boston Patriots.

The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids did just enough to secure a 5-4 victory over the Boston Patriots at Dunkin Donuts Park. Nobody did more than first baseman Kyoji Hakoda, who captured player of the game honors. Raúl Gómez earned the win to go to 7-5. He allowed 2 earned runs on 5 hits, with 5 walks and 6 strikeouts.

Northern Virginia shortstop Eustacio Tafalla made his contribution to the Rainbow Mermaids cause with a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning. For the day, Tafalla went 2-5 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs.

"We squandered some opportunities," said Boston manager Tyler Carter.

Northern Virginia is now 55-31.
