Rocks Turn Back Salt Lake City, 5-3

The Plymouth Rocks beat the Salt Lake City Buzz, 5-3, at Plymouth Quarry. The win was largely due to the efforts of designated hitter Javier Vega, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Vaugh Chesser recorded his 12th save for Plymouth. After today's action, Plymouth sits at 27-18, while Salt Lake City falls to 18-27.
Vega had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-0 fastball from Ron Armstrong, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Rocks a 5-2 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Vega.
"Feels good to get the job done," Vega said after the game.
