Win Streak Now at 7 for Hotspur Reserves
|
The Phoenix Hotspur Reserves overcame a good performance by Bloomington designated hitter Toussiant L'Ouverture to knock off Bloomington, 8-3, at Lookouts Ballpark. L'Ouverture was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. Leon von Stroheim was the winner. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed 1 run on 6 hits, with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts. The Longnecks, at 16-26, have lost 5 straight games.
One of the key players for the Hotspur Reserves was designated hitter Ryan Pollock, who drilled a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning. For the game, Pollock was 2 for 4 with a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Pollock told the Phoenix Daily.
