Golden Cranes Come Up Short at Bakersfield
|
Bakersfield right-hander Cameron Frye pitched his team to victory over the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes at Jerome Grounds. The final score was 2-1. Fernando Torrez earned the save, his 2nd, for the Nobles. The Golden Cranes, at 16-20, have lost 6 in a row.
One important at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the fourth inning. Facing Santa Barbara hurler Donald Gregory, Wade Killefer, who was drafted in the two round of the 2023 draft, got hit by a pitch. The Nobles went on to win.
"We've got a great group of guys," Frye said, "and we're having fun right now."
