Longnecks Topple Rocks with Late Rally

The Bloomington Longnecks faced a tough opponent in Plymouth pitcher Rio Bavin, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Lookouts Ballpark by a final score of 5-2. Bavin went 7.1 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Bloomington reliever Tomás Galván picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Rio Bavin was saddled with the loss. Anaías Pedroza sewed up the save, his 7th.
Bloomington took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With no one out, designated hitter Carlos Cardona hit a 2-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.
"It was a good effort all around," said Cardona.
Bloomington, at 11-16, occupies 7th place in the Premier AAA.
