Lynx Squelch Fighting Dachsunds Offense in Shutout Win
|
The Lynx faced a stiff challenge from Ellenburg pitcher Benjamin Busto, but persevered to claim a win at Dog Park in Ellenburg. The final score was 5-0. Busto went 7 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Gustavo López, credited with the win, is now 1-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 4.1 innings. Calgary occupies second place in the Premier AAA at 14-9.
Ángelo Delgado drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances for Calgary. The 22-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Benjamin Busto. It was his 13th RBI of the season.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Calgary manager Ricardo Betancourt. "It's usually not just one thing."
