Bloomington Beats Phoenix, 5-3
|
Bloomington first baseman Keith Alexander played a vital role in his team's 5-3 triumph over Phoenix. He went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Bloomington. The defending champion Longnecks have struggled a bit to find their groove this season, but improve to 8-9 with the win.
The game turned with two out in the top of the fourth when Alexander hit a 3-run home run. It propelled the Longnecks into the lead, 3-0.
"We played hard and won," said Alexander. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
