Hotspur Reserves Defeat Longnecks, 12-6
The Bloomington Longnecks got a sterling performance from right fielder John Schaefer, but the Hotspur Reserves still prevailed, 12-6. Schaefer was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Masahiro Sakei, who went 7 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 6 runs on 11 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 3-0. The Longnecks fall to 7-9 and continue to sputter in the early going.

A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when left fielder Jason DeGeorge, who is tied for 3rd in the PAAA in extra base hits with 8, hit a single. The Hotspur Reserves went on to win.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Alfred Roberts said.
