The Bloomington Longnecks turned back the Bakersfield Nobles, 4-3, at Lookouts Ballpark. John Schaefer was named player of the game for his fine performance. He went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Anaías Pedroza closed the door for Bloomington, picking up his 4th save of the year. The defending champion Longnecks have struggled a bit to find their groove this season, but improve to 7-8 with the win.
Calvin Wilms, the 29 overall pick in the 2028 draft, aided the Bloomington cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the third. For the game, the catcher went 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Bakersfield manager Wilson Alvarado. "But we decided not to take it."
