Crocker Hits 2 home runs in Longnecks Win
|
The Bloomington Longnecks bested the Bakersfield Nobles by a score of 12-5, with second baseman Frank Crocker getting the main credit. On the day, Crocker belted 2 home runs, while scoring 4 times and driving in 6 for the Longnecks. Bloomington starter Tony DeWitt was credited with the win after throwing 90 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 1-1. The Longnecks are off to an underwhelming start as they look to defend their championship, notching only their 6th win in 14 games.
Crocker contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Bloomington in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Crocker took a changeup from Mario López and stroked the home run to right-center. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Longnecks to leap in front, 2-1.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager said.
