Irving rode a fine outing from starter Barry Rozner to victory over the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks at Blue Sox Ballpark. The final score was 3-2. Rozner, the winner, moves to 5-3. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 1 walk. The Blue Sox raised their record to 39-39.
Irving took a 3-2 lead on Enrique Gómez's 52nd hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Gómez hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Ft. Polk South pitcher Seong-hyeon Pak shaking his head.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Gómez told the Irving Today.
