Nationals Get Road Win, 3-1
|
The Ottawa Nationals faced a tough opponent in San Antonio pitcher Curt Orser, but did just enough to pull out the victory at San Antonio Field by a final score of 3-1. Orser went 9 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Even with the win, the Nationals have a dismal 21-56 record.
In the top of the sixth inning, designated hitter Ed Mellor came through big-time for the Nationals. With Ottawa leading 1-0, he belted a 2-run home run.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Mellor said after the game.
