Rainbow Mermaids Win in Glorious Fashion
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids and Phoenix Hotspur put on a pitchers' duel at Atlantica.

Northern Virginia got a strong outing from Eric Matson as the Rainbow Mermaids defeated the Phoenix Hotspur, 2-1, at Atlantica. The Rainbow Mermaids own a robust 50-28 mark.

Late in the game, center fielder Ty Tomblin had a big at-bat for Northern Virginia. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring double off Santiago Alonza. The play gave the Rainbow Mermaids a 2-1 lead.

Tomblin attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
