BC Saddle Nationals with 10-7 Loss
|
The San Antonio BC beat the Ottawa Nationals, 10-7, at San Antonio Field. The win was largely due to the efforts of designated hitter Abraham Phelps, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Jeffery Prosser, credited with the win, is now 6-4. He allowed 7 runs on 10 hits in 6.2 innings. The Nationals, now 20-56, have lost 4 straight.
Anastasio Delgadilo aided the San Antonio cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the third. For the game, the second baseman went 1 for 5 with a double.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Ottawa manager John Hill. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
